Why Office 365?
Many IT decision makers ask us how Microsoft Office 365 is relevant to their business.
Whether you’re working in your office or on the go, you get a familiar, top-of-the-line set of productivity tools.
Some of the features available include:
- Office applications installed on your PC or Mac
- Business class hosted email, calendars and contacts (50GB of storage per user!)
- Office on tablets and phones
- Online conferencing
- File storage
- Industry-leading reliability
Office 365 is the latest Microsoft Office suite, purchased on a yearly subscription basis. There are various packages available, just like the traditional physical, boxed Office product. You get access to the latest version. When a new major version or feature is released, you get these as part of your subscription. Gone are the days were your business PCs all run varying versions of Office!
The Office 365 Web Apps and OneDrive allow users to simultaneously edit Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and OneNote notebooks in real-time, something not traditionally possible.
Exchange Online is another part of the Office 365 suite, which provides your email. You continue to use your existing traditional Office suite, but your email lives in Microsoft’s “cloud”, and as above, you benefit from continual development by Microsoft. To your end-users, it’ll be no different to use on a daily-basis than your existing in-house Exchange email system; but that’s what you want, right?
If you’re using traditional POP3 or IMAP based email systems, you’ll love Exchange Online. Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks are synchronised across all of your devices (whether it’s a desktop PC, laptop or mobile device).
Microsoft provides enterprise-class virus and spam filtering with Exchange Online, to help protect inbound and outbound messages from malicious software and help protect your network from spam transferred through email.
We’ve successfully migrated many businesses to Exchange Online from email systems such as Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, and many more.
